Tony Borthwick of The Plumed Horse
named Scottish Chef of the Year 2005
Tony Borthwick of the tiny Plumed Horse
in Crossmichael in Dumfries & Galloway has
won the premier category in the Scottish
Chef Awards 2005. He was named Scottish Chef
of the Year at a Gala Dinner on Sunday
May 8 at the Radisson Hotel in Glasgow attended by
over 200 chefs.

Restaurant Chef of the Year following on

his victory in the New Restaurant

Award
Geoffrey Smeddle of Etain in the Princes
Square shopping mall in Glasgow city
centre won the Scottish City Chef of the
year. Geoffrey was highly commended last
year in the New Restaurant category.

parents own the Royal Hotel in
Tighnabruich, where she was head chef prior to moving to Glasgow.

the Year for a dinner for a single group

showed mastery of matching food with
